http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj219/enjave/100_2370copy-1.gif

A photo I took of our last snow fall in Feb. Used a mask on the layer and masked in a photo of spring of the same bush. Added a butterfly in Photobucket.

Chapter 2: Learn how
Photoshop sees and handles selections

  1. To analyze an image to make the best selection
  2. To work with Marquee, Elliptical, and Lasso tools

  3. To use the Magic Wand and Quick Mask tools to make refined selections

  4. The value of combining tools and techniques

With these tools and a combination of them, you can select just about any thing. These are just a few selections I made with a combination of several tools and then merged into other pictures.

OVERVIEW OF BOOK

The Structure of the Book
  1. Selection Tools and Techniques
  2. Working with Layers and Masks
  3. Selecting and Preserving Fine Detail
  4. Subjective and Objective Compositing
For my first posting of my blog I will show 2 of my loves, one doing digital painting on the computer and also doing real/true painting in acrylics. The snow scene was painted in Photoshop and the sunflowers were painted on a canvas board using acrylics.
For now, I will use this as a place to show my work in PSing and doing a study on Masking & Compositing from a book by Katrin Eismann in conjuction with a group of ladies from "Hello World. It is a fun place where we all enjoy discussions in painting, photoshopping, photography, eating and exercise....or whatever comes to mind.
